Posted in Anger Management on February 19th, 2013 by admin

People say that those who become easily angered are not necessarily short-tempered, but the ones that are allergic to nonsense. Nonsense in this context is what the person considers the lowest of priorities. However, the truth in the world is that people have different priorities from each other and people who easily get mad are the ones who cannot accept this fact.

Each person has his or her own value and idea sets that they live by and they get mad at people who cannot agree with them or know their priorities. A person can get mad easily because of their disillusionment by the society they move in; because they cannot accept that this is their reality and that they face this daily.

Managing anger means controlling the idealist inside. It means accepting the fact that people have different views and outlooks in life. What may seem nonsensical to you might mean of so much value to another person. Getting angry for what other people perceive as valuable will not get you anywhere and can be counter-productive.

Any person has their own small world that they live in, but sometimes, they forget to live in the reality that they face. It is important that people learn to face their reality and live with it while making improvements they want to see gradually with their own hands. However, to do this, one has to have patience, which is a focal player in reducing anger in many people.

1. Satire

From fiction to literary writers to known intellectuals, scientists and even religious or spiritual leaders, satire is one of the oldest forms of humor. Usually, it is the portrayal of a serious business that is portrayed by the characters with a light-hearted and unconventional approach. For example, a crucial war defense meeting between the board of directors can be funny if they cannot be serious the whole time. Satire has always been a tool for writers and artists in expressing political ideas and opinions in an easy to understand and funny way.

2. Slapstick

Slapstick comedies are comedies that make use of the “blunt” approach, meaning that the character inherently makes the mistake that is completely mindless. For example, if you saw a person slam themselves into a wall as they were talking without looking, this is considered slapstick humor. Slapstick humor is the easiest to distinguish between all kinds of humor, but is also the rarest.

3. Sarcasm

Sarcasm is a joke wherein a person insults another person without having the other person realize it. The insulted laughs along with another person while the insulter laughs with the people who understand his or her statement. Sarcasm is popular as it makes the joke sound seemingly “normal” for people who cannot understands, but it is crystal clear to people who understand the joke itself. This can be one of the most difficult forms of humor to understand.

What Humor Can Actually Do For Your Life

Posted in Humor on October 24th, 2012 by admin

Disappointments come and go and they are a part of everyday living. Nobody can stop disappointment from happening in their lives, unless they are the ones who are the cause of their own disappointment. However, one who picks him or herself up from their failures easily is one who appreciates good humor in hopeless cases. Good humor is the beginning of looking at the brighter side of things.

Humor is when a person sarcastically sees the positive side of things from his or her end even if they find it disappointing. For example, if you lost your wallet and just stated that it’s just less weight off your jeans, then you find good humor. Good humor helps you focus on the task at hand, which is to find the wallet, or at least safeguard any financial items the bank controls, such as debit or credit cards.

Having good humor also helps you get along with more people. No good person will not appreciate a good joke. Kid around and use references that might be unrelated to make people smile. People who consistently smile are people that you find comfort in your company. If you can smile with your jokes and especially if someone else cracks a better joke, it is indeed a good friendship.

They say that the person who laughs the hardest is the person who actually has faced many trials in life. This might be interpreted that any person who understands what life is actually makes them happier in many other ways. This is how humor actually helps you in your daily life.

The Best Times to Buy New Things

Posted in Buying on September 24th, 2012 by admin

Have you ever wondered when will the next sale in your favorite store or shop will ever happen again? Most stores and shops conduct sales whenever they expect new items to arrive sooner or later. Knowing their schedule means to take note of the following.

1. The Fourth Fiscal Quarter

The fourth quarter of the business calendar, known as the months of October, November and December, is usually when stores and shops drop down their prices. Even from the third quarter (July, August, September), prices are dropping down on products and services. This is because most businesses, manufacturers and companies introduce new products and services during the last fiscal quarter. Stores can drop prices to clear their inventories for the new products on the shelves.

2. End of the Month

Stores and shops usually have end of the month sales. This is particularly common with clothing, computer hardware and software, hardware and supermarkets. This is because by the end of the month, people earn their keep from their jobs. Expecting a heavy influx of customers, especially in super malls and supermarkets, they want to make good sales by reducing the initial prices of their products.

3. Economic Factors

Luxury items can drop in prices whenever the demand for them is lost because of economic factors. For example, a resort can offer discounted vouchers during their off-peak season. Economic factors usually affect the sales of luxury vehicles, resorts, hotels and restaurants. As they are seasonal, the demand for them relaxes during specific seasons of the year

4. Spontaneous Events

Nothing can make things a bit cheaper other than a lawsuit or a product conflict with another company. A good example of this is the recent Samsung Vs. Apple lawsuit. Due to Apple’s victory, Samsung products that were listed as infringement are now re-sold in most re-selling websites and are now low in value. One can purchase such a product for almost half the price. However, using the example, beware of these products; they lack in company support and may have their own malfunctions.
